Crisis Administrative Services Organization (ASO)

The partner you can trust for comprehensive crisis management

Every crisis system needs an entity accountable for performance and oversight.* As a crisis ASO, we can be just that. When we partner with community stakeholders, we can bolster the range of existing crisis services to help build a trauma-informed, peer-driven crisis response system.

Our support includes:

  • Administrative services.
  • Staff.
  • Training.
  • Technical assistance.
  • Best practices for determining eligibility and utilization.
  • Monitoring of key performance indicators and quality metrics.

Implementing a recovery-oriented and cost-effective approach

Replacing local resources isn’t always the answer to better crisis response. We begin by analyzing current systems to identify gaps and then develop a strategic plan to improve quick access to appropriate care.

This approach optimizes current systems and reduces the use and cost of emergency services while helping people receive the care they need.

Engaging the community to promote proactive crisis planning

It’s important for a crisis system to be built on knowledge and experience from the community. We hold “crisis collaboratives” to educate, train, and engage with community stakeholders, including:

  • Hospitals.
  • Housing services.
  • Mental health providers.
  • Law enforcement.
  • Peer-run organizations.
  • Primary care physicians.

The feedback from our crisis collaboratives serves to customize solutions, strengthen planning, and drive innovations in crisis response.

Sustaining crisis systems by providing braided funding solutions

Our team provides a braided funding framework to help ensure state funds are the last dollars spent.

Funds can be braided from the following resources:

  • Block grant funds intended to support non-Medicaid behavioral health services.
  • Commercial insurance (if applicable).
  • Medicaid funds meant for crisis services through contracting.
  • Proviso funds.
  • State funds allocated for crisis system administration.
